Default Wings900 Exclusive Large Scale Mode Announcement!

At 11:00 AM on October 29th, 2005 at the 2005 Boston Airline Show Wings900 unveiled the following two large scale models that may be manufactured especially for Wings900 and DAC users!

Continental Airlines Boeing 777-200
1:100 Scale

Continental Airlines Boeing 747-200
1:144 Scale
Model Information

The photos below are from FIRST RUN samples; that is the manufacturer did not have our "want" and "wish list", they produced the models for us with out any suggestions or comments

What you see below is a list of items/details that will be added, as well as corrections that we will be doing on each model
[*]
Production timeframe is late Q1 or early Q2 '06 if the second run samples pass our inspection
[*]
Purchasing information will follow in the coming weeks.
  • Both will be limited releases, under 50 units total for each
  • Models are fully licensed by Continental Airlines, Licensing agreements have been finalized
  • Photos below show a 1:500 scale Continental Airlines Boeing B737-700 for size comparison
  • Models will be available through Wings900.com and select retailers
Model Features
  • Cast Poly-Resin
  • Acrylic/Metal Stand
  • Individually numbered on the bottom of the fuselage
  • Numbered Certificate of licensing and authenticity
  • 747 is one piece, 777 comes in three pieces (fuselage, two wings)
  • UV Protective clear coat
  • Hand polished for a lasting finish
  • 1:144 scale features spinning fan blades

Additions
  • Rain Guards
  • Fan blades, hub, inner cowlings printed a dark grey.
  • Rotation markings on center of fan blades
  • Pitot tubes and additional ports
  • Additional door details on the upper half of the door.
  • Pocket windows
  • Bottom lower edge of pylon in a darker shade of grey
  • OnePass advertisement next to L2 door
  • Nose gear registration and etops markings, nose gear door printed
  • Underside flap markings
  • Additional wing details such as no step markings
  • Tail number of the aircraft printed: 006
  • Additional detailing near the horizontal stabilizer
  • Add lights, navigation lights, landing lights, etc.
  • Additional ports on underside of fuselage
  • Silver stripe on underside of fuselage
Corrections
  • Add registration: N77006
  • Add name: Robert F. Six
  • Bottom of doors will be raised half way through the gold cheat line.
  • Top of doors will have a thinner darker grey similar to the bottom.
  • SkyTeam logo slightly rotated
  • Cockpit windows raised and slightly modified in shape
  • Corrected engine colors
  • Engine exhaust in darker shade of grey
  • Corrected upper and lower wing colors
  • Leading edge printed in silver
  • Slightly darker tail color
  • Thinner white stripes on tail globe
  • Corrected globe shape, and repositioning
  • Space Continental letters slightly further apart,
  • Silver leading edge on tail, thinner white top, white at bottom of tail







Continental Airlines Boeing 747-200
1:144 Scale
Additions
  • Printed Tail Number behind L5 and R5 doors
  • Tail Number and details printed on nose gear
  • Tail Number : 019
  • Navigation lights, landing lights…etc..
  • Darker internal engine colors, and fan blade hub details
  • Pitot tubes and other ports
  • Rain guards
  • Silver markings on lower fuselage
  • Pocket windows (2 behind L1 and R1 door, 1 in front of 13 windows in front of L1 R1 door
  • Outline center wing and center vertical stabilizer in black
Corrections
  • Add registration N78019
  • Continental titles need to be slighty modified
  • Silver leading edge on tail
  • Globe position and shape corrected
  • White stripes within globe corrected
  • Corrected wings colors
  • Corrected leading edge printing
  • Corrected engines and engine colors
  • Flag position slightly lowered
  • Refine cockpit window frames and redo cockpit windows to Martinair MD-11 style
  • One less upper deck window
  • Correct horiztonal stabilizer markings
  • Re-design of engine fan blades



*These are Requested Modifications and Additions, there is no guarantee that these will be in the final product
