Default 1st Post and Hawker Siddeley Tridents

Hello there everyone!

I'm new to the hobby and currently aggressively pursuing a project to own at least one model of every jet airliner (including variants) so far built, ideally in 1/500 scale, although I'm aware this isn't possible at the moment!

In the last month I've collected about 30, nearly all Herpa with some StarJets and all from Ebay, at an average cost of about £7.00 each, so I'm not doing too bad.

Does anyone know if there has ever been a die-cast model Hawker Siddeley Trident, or if any of the manufacturers have plans to produce one?

I've noticed that models of all British jet airliners are pretty thin on the ground with the exception of Concorde, perhaps a gap in the market for an enterprising manufacturer?

Given that Aeroclassics etc issue their products in small numbers I'm sure they would have no trouble selling any they did produce.

Lots of One-Elevens and VC-10s done in 1:400 by AeroClasssics. More in 1:200 by Skyline Models.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for you reply, in my steep learning curve since starting my collection I've discovered the existence of the Aeroclassics models but had no idea about the 1:200 Trident!

Herpa seem to be coming round to the idea of producing 'classic' airliners with their recent Comet release etc, so perhaps there's hope of a 1:500 Trident, 111 and VC-1O in the future!

Ranger, ...airman and myself have recently spoken to Herpa regarding more british aircraft models to be produced in 1:500 scale. For example we have asked for FlyBe aircraft, BA aircraft, Jet2 and so on. We are hoping to see them in future releases however Herpa may not be able to produce models if it is too expensive or they cannot agree legal terms with the airline. I hope this helps in your quest to find some British Aircraft.

Default Hawker Siddeley Trident

I contacted Herpa quite some time ago and asked if they would concider making these beauties They seemed very interested but finally I gave up Maybe there aren't many collectors interessted or the variety of liveries is too small to invest in making these moulds.

However, here are a few links for those interested in this particular classic aircraft:
