Question Beginner

I have quite a collection of GJ's mainly and have never attempted to create my own, or repaint/decal an existing piece. I'l like to give it a try though just to experiment. How would I go about this as a beginner? Where do you find the decals? I'd like to try on one of the bigger pieces such as a 747 or 777 to make it somewhat easier. I hate to ruin a prefectly good model, but want to give it a whirl.

Any comments/help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there aloha. I started just like you. I am afraid of ruining a model so I chose to do it on an all-white release of Dragon. I think it would be easier for you to try it on an all-white or if you really want to try it on a Gemini then choose a livery that is white in majority. As for the decals....someone refered me to www.drawdecal.com....I never tried one from them though coz I'm not good in placing decals. Well.....just my opinion there......just wait for the other experts here to post . Goodluck aloha....hope to see your pics soon.

If you would like to work with another model, other then the DW All-White Series models, you should choose a model that is mostly white already. This makes it easier to remove the old tampo printed livery. You can have someone make a set of decals for you, or purchase them from a retailer. If you would rather purchase them from a retailer, I also highly recommend Draw Decal. You can access their website at: http://www.drawdecal.com

I hope this helps! Reply with any questions.

Cool

Thank you for the response, like I said, I just want to give it a try just for fun. As mentioned, I'll stick to one that is primarily white. I looked at the website and found quite a selection. Now I just have to find the "right" ginea (?) pig.
