Hi Guys,
The one and only livery that has me obsessed for the past months is the Tropical MegaTop or the SIA Rainbow 744. I have previously painted one in 1/200 scale Hasegawa kit and I have just completed my 1/144 scale Revell kit. The livery isl hand-painted except for the SIA logo on the tail (and engines), the SIA logo-type and stencilings which are taken from Flying Colours decal sheets and deca-dry transfer. I have asked Mr Bader to make me one but it has not arrived yet... I do not know how to post multiple pics so here is the first one:

Saw the pics you emailed me Ming Chuang, great work. Highly impressed. Sorry I wasn't able to get the pics out to you in time though. My friend just returned the book to me and I can scan and email you the pics though if you want them.

Very impressive work Ang Ming. As I've said in theother thread....I'm sure you'll do just as well in 1:400. Painting the SQ Tropical is one heck of a job! I don't have the guts to try and paint this livery yet. Perhaps in the near future hehe. thanks for the inspiration.

Well done Ang, fantastic job on the SQ Tropical. It must a pain-staking effort. With all the colours and all the intricate work involve in getting the model done. Fantastic. I use to do the Hasegawa kits but gave up after some time. Use to have KLM 744, CX L1011, JAL 744, SQ 744, SAS DC-10. But gave them up after some time....
Hope to be able to see you Tropical Megatop Collection soon..... Keep in touch. Regards

Thanks Netcrawer for the offer - guessed i have posted enuff of photo already.
Hi Edwin - thanks for the last offer. I would still welcome all reference materials for the rainbow scheme. Most of what you see on my model is guess work with the SJ, DW and Rise Soon desktop model as guide. Just saw Bader's Gallery photos of the rainbow plane - that's probably the accurate one? Hi Jao, thanks for your kind words. You mentioned that your hands tremble? well that certainly do not show in your work. My left hand is the problematic one as it is badly burnt and spent alot of time being cut out and pasted with more skins by plastic surgeons. Well at least I thank God to still let me have hands. Hi SQKRU - welcome back, long time no hear. Wonder if you want to join our little Singapore DAC that a few of us over here in S'pore has started. Thanks for your compliments - really hope SQ continue to take care of you guys. ![]()
