I was just curious if anyone had any effective methods for removing the markings from the plastic on Wooster/PPC/LP snap-together models without smearing them all over. I caught an earlier thread here that said that nail polish remover would smear the markings on the plastic tails of Herpa models. Since paint stripper would just dissolve the entire model, I'm not quite sure what else I might be able to use to get a clean white model. I suppose I could just sand the markings off, but I'm not sure if that's my best option.
Thanks! Andy |

Sanding off the model would be the option I would take. Just use an extremely fine grain paper and use a light touch. You want to remove most of the markings and paint without removing any of the plastic itself. Clean the model thoroughly of any dust and debris. Then paint it with a light coat of primer, allow to dry for a day, followed by one or more coats of white paint. Bam! A perfectly white model.

nail polish and a q-tip.
OR a little thinner and a q-tip. I personaly use the thinner, and I do it outside because the smell gets pretty harsh.
