Hi,

Here's the start of a 1/144 Revell/Contrails B737-900ER in Continental's retro livery.

Man ... no rest for the wicked ...

Seriously ... just by looking at the detail on them CFMs, I think this is gonna be a 5-star effort ... the winglets look very crisp as well ...

Brad, how long is that model in 1/144th scale? About 8" thereabouts?

It's a nice mod. Although I did chop the nose and tail sections off the Contrails conversion and used the Revell kit's sections for more detail. .

How are you setting the flaps? (take-off or landing?) Is she "reserved"?!?

Hey Brad ... just checkin' in on progress ... don't mean to rush you or anything but we're all anxious to see where you're at when you get the time to post some photos.

Or perhaps, are you trying to build up the suspense for the "grand finale" shot whilst skipping the interim construction photos?

Lord knows we know what to expect when it comes to your builds, so maybe like Boeing does, you're going to throw us a curve?

Thanks for the update ... sorry about the snow ... must be "Global Warming" ... COUGH-COUGH-COUGH!!!

BTW, I noticed you glued the wings to the fuselage already on this build - does it have to do with the paint scheme or some other reason?

Just curious!

Yea...Having a messed up back don't help too....

Yes, the reason for the wing assembly is the way that Revell has them set up. A 1/4 of the bottom of the fuselage is part of the bottom wing half. It adds a little challange for dropping flaps and painting the cheat lines.

.....gotta watch 'em winglets too when doing flips..flaps

Gotcha ... thanks for sharing that ... I had a feeling it had something to do with the model's construction design.

As for your back, wishing you a fast and speedy recovery ... and as for the snow-plowing, perhaps a younger family member might be able to assist?

Thanks!!!!

Yes...also this livery has a strange grey/white scheme that has to line-up perfectly with the decals around nose section. This had to be done before the flap construction started. I wanted to see if my masking skills were correct.....I got lucky!!!!!

I still have to foil the bottom with some matte aluminium....then the flaps/slats construction can begin.

Thanks !!!!!! They are the Revell kits engines. The only Contrails part is the middle of the fuselage, winglets and antenna dome on top of fuselage. All other parts will be from the Revell 737-800 and scratch flaps/slats etc.....

I think the Platz will look fantastic...It's dead on with the shape and is a very accurate reproduction of the SP..

I just got the AV200 version... it's decent but the gears and winglets suck. I'll probably end up getting the Aero Le Plane model as well. Anyone know when it should be available?

Mike I have to agree the av200 is an abortion of a mold.
I wish GJ would do a -900. It pains me inflight is releasing a regular
scheme on the same trash mold.
