Great-looking build, Brad! Kurt's kits have always been tops in my opinion, and I love the fact that he did the 727-200, which has always been my favorite aircraft. I just wish they were more affordable!

Thanks for the kind reply. Yes they are very $$. Also, resin makes it more of a risk factor for building too.

Brad nice work,

how do you tackle resin molds. You said they need special attention, so how do you prep them dor painting and such. I have a few resin molds but have not tried them out yet. Some including those cute little mini-liners from Donald Schmenk including his LEar jets and Beech aircraft and such but I want to make sure I do the proper body work and prep before painting because someone told me that if you do not wash them, then the oil from you hands can eat away at the resin over time. Thanks for your help. Pat

Hi.
I washed all the parts first with some soap then wipe it down with some paint thiner. The thiner/paint remover will not melt or harm resin only plastic! It removes the releasing agents from the cast. I then primed with a white primer.

Just make sure it's resin!

I'm going to need to remember this for the many resin kits I have in the closet...

Thanks for the info Brad, was the paint thinner for enamel paints then, or was it laquer thinner? I'm making some good notes of your knowledgeable work here...hihi

Hi,
I used some MAB surface preparation. It's a enamel killer....You can find this stuff at a paint store.

Just MASTER-ful Brad ... impeccable detailing an accuracy ... I love the way you "age" the paint.

My next challenge to you is to fabricate transparent cockpit windows or otherwise render them as you have the passenger windows to give the model that fully-realistic look ... BRAVO!!!
