Default Area 51 "Jannet" 737 project 1:200

Well, since I allready have an Aloha 737 in diecast, I figured that I would turn this model project into a Jannet 737 like many have seen in Las Vegas. Hasegawa 737 is being put to good use recreating an aircraft that I have seen many times while working for the airlines in LAS.
What a cool addition to my collection as an aircraft that the government denies? Neat!!!

I was waiting to cross 19L & R on friday and saw two of these bad-boys land right in front of me....always a pleasure to see an old 732 land, especially THAT close But what makes these birds even more special is their retro livery, which was adopted from one of their first leased birds: an ex-Western 732. So everytime I see them, i squint my eyes a tad and can see the full Western bird taxiing by.

Side note: The "Janet" call-sign is only used while operating on McCarren ground/tower/approach/departure.....once the flight is handed off to Nellis Control, the callsign is changed to one of many different ones they use, i.e: Janet 237 becomes Queen 9 and so on

I believe E,G &G operates 7 or 8 of these beauties

Can't wait to see the finished product!

p.s. The US government has, since 1997, admitted they have an air base at Groom Lake. It's no longer secret. Nor is the all-civilian employees of E,G&G.

Well, all the parts in the photo are just dry fitted for now. Im working on getting the fuselage completely 'seam free' as I hate to see the seams on a finished product.

As far as the masking goes, well I'm used to it and don't mind.
