Default The flaws in my models!

So i think its unfair that I hide behind all the glitz, glamor, and praises and not show my weak side. So I'll show some with my latest build the 1:200 Hasegawa Austrain 777-200.

i understand that no model is perfect. but every project is a learning experience in quality control!!!

Brad is still my inspiration. my models are no where near his!

model looks great in my opinion overall but if i were to get really really nit picky heres what i would find:

Slight discoloration in the blackness of engine fan. This is due to the fact that i paint the fan before i paint the nacelle. during the painting of the nacelle, paint particles of the gray/white fly through the air and stick to the fan giving it a "used" look. I had to reapply some black to the fan after I realized that the first round I had missed it...this new application of paint didnt have those particles of paint since i painted after the nacelles were completed.

slight discoloration of the blue here as marked by the X and O. i had excess Future Floor Wax buildup here and decided to rub it away with windex...i rubbed too much and rubbed off the first coat of blue. i airbrushed a second coat on and for some reason the paint color was different. also notice partial seam lines (im getting better with the seam lines though).

random black streaks that i have no idea where they came from. also notice the smudge of blue paint due to the fact my masking tape had tiny gaps.

minor chipping of decals. no big deal, i could just order a patch set from my decal dude

Kai, your models are beautiful and you can't deny that. You throw some of the greatest and unique liveries out there and they make up for any small flaws.

Keep it up!!

Too bad Ford didn't learn this when building the Edsel. lol.

Kai no need to pick apart about your models and show us the boo-boos. You're very talented.

If you ever want to paint and detail model cars, let me know. I have an Edsel kit or two that need attention.
