Default Brad Shinn Continental B-777-200

Here are some pics of a Hasegawa build of a B-777 in Continental. Still a lot to go but I thought I share the WIP.

Thanks,
Brad

Haven't seen anything from you in a while. Was wondering what you have been up to.

Now we know.

Good start - don't forget the intake lip on your engine.

Look forward to the completed project.

Looks AWESOME as always Brad!!

What color gray do you use for Conti? I did a 735 with winglets, but the gray isn't spot on, you seemed to have nailed it!

Yeah, the flaps does look really good.
I just like the underwing-details such as the neat flaps-fairings.

Btw RT404, please check your PM regarding a tagged model for sale. TY.

Thanks Guys!!

I use a Tamiya AS-16 Grey. Then buff when dry. Seems to work fine. The hot section of the engine is Bare-Metal Foil.

Ahhh, the secret must be in the buffing! I thought I read somewhere you used that color, it just seemed to be a different shade to me. Will def remember to try that on the next bird!

Thanks Brad

Can't wait to see the finished model. Looks great so far.

Just one question Brad, how do you treat the engine intakes? I mean the crude intake duct with the ugly step just front of the fan. I read a few how-to's but none seemed to work fine with me. I even started to make modified resin copies of their engines, but this was quite time consuming so that I stopped.
I'm sure you have a good method to make these intakes to look good.
As much as I love Hasegawa's 200 line, their intake design potentially kills my motivation...

Hi Thanks,

Yea, more engine detail maybe some weathering to the reverse sleaves and decals..

Yes, Hasagawa's intakes are a mess....One way to fix them is to make inserts from styrene that fit the intakes.

Thanks again,
Brad

Hey Brad, the inside of that DL MD-11 engine looks great.

You are saying that was done with styrene? Don't know how but it looks great!
