im having a hard time deciding what to finalize my custom 1:200 tu-154m model as. would you guys choose one over the other?
Cubana in latest colors or Aeroflot in old colors im personally leaning towards the cubana because ive seen too much of aeroflot as they seem to be more popular. (plus its easier not to have to paint the gray underbelly, haha ill be honest!)

Go with the Aeroflot but with the Soviet flag (with registration starting with CCCP-*****) instead of the Russian flag.

You can't go wrong with Cubana, compared to the old flot scheme, it is more "exotic". Love the big Cubana fonts.

I'm with you there Heavy, pretty much anything will look good in that post 1977 livery, even my car (Hope you were referring to PLL LOT).
![]() If I had to choose (it won't let me vote, note that the DA.C system has a serious problem that won't allow some members to vote for some reason), I'd probebly say the Soviet "CCCP" colors than the RA flag colors. But if you want to do the RA version more, then I'd say the Cubana.

i didnt even know there was a soviet colors aeroflot until daihc mentioned it. so i guess if i do the aeroflot it would be that. albeit fantasy. did they operate -M series back then? seems like they are all the -Bs. if in case they only operated the -Bs back then then i will do it on another build as im trying to scrounge for more of these rare kits

If you were to go with the Russian flag, then I'd suggest you go with Cubana...but the one with Soviet flag is truly something different - a classic!

I have the Cubana 154 from Tucano and it is definately one of the faves of my collection. Sits nicely with my GJ 162M and all I need now is an Il-86 and 96.
Oh yeah, and maybe the F-27. |

Yes, for the record, I'd suggest the Aeroflot OC with the Soviet flag for your Tu-154M.Phantom, I'm sorry but I'm not a Russian aircraft expert but how many different versions of the Tu-154 are there? What's the difference between them? Thanks!

i think the major ones are the -B and -M, you can tell by the 2nd engine tail cone on the back. as well as wider chord on main wing and tail planes, larger engines with #2 hole being larger i think. -M has interesting looking "raked" winglets too. all this i learned just modding my -B kit to a -M kit haha
check out the butts on these two im still trying to secure a couple more of these rare russian made kits. ill probably go with the cubana on this -M variant i made (it was downright hard to mod the kit to make it LOOK like a -M) and if i get a hold of other kits ill make them -Bs in Tupolev corporate colors and Aeroflot soviet colors. cubana has an overwhelming lead! http://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/...reply&p=557909 haha only possible with custom decals! but that means ill need to mod another -M which i wont ever do again haha since its so hard

Judging from those two pics, looks like the thrust reversers on engine no. 1 are slightly different too.

In short and out of my head: The 154/154A/B/B2 all used Kuznetsov NK8 powerplants with clamshell-type reversers on engines #1+3 (no reversers on #2) APU exhaust located right above #2 exhaust. Differences between these versions mostly were internal, just the earliest 154s had noticable differences on tail. The M was -heavily modified with an improved cockpit (crew down to 3) -has a modified wing with different LE-slats and different flaps. -has an all new designed tail with the APU exhaust relocated on fuselage starboard side (somewhere above engine 3 IIRC) -Soloviev D30 engines with bucket-type reversers (again no reverser on #2) The posted Wiki-link also could help, though I wouldn't trust Wiki too much. |

Stop Smoking - Start Living
Stopping smoking is not easy. Below are some tips which may help you to stop smoking. 1. Tell everyone that you are giving up smoking. Friends and family often give support and may help you. Smoking by others in the household makes giving up harder. If appropriate, try to get other household members who smoke, or friends who smoke, to stop smoking at the same time. A 'team' effort may be easier than going it alone. 2. Be aware of situations in which you are most likely to want to smoke. In particular, drinking alcohol is often associated with failing in an attempt to stop smoking. You should consider not drinking much alcohol in the first few weeks after stopping smoking. Try changing your routine for the first few weeks. For example, dont go to the pub for a while if that is a tempting place to smoke and drink alcohol. Also, if drinking tea and coffee are difficult times, try drinking mainly fruit juice and plenty of water instead. 3. Take one day at a time. Mark off each successful day on a calendar. Look at it when you feel tempted to smoke, and tell yourself that you don't want to start all over again. 4. Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) can help if withdrawal symptoms are troublesome. Nicotine gum, sprays, patches, tablets, lozenges, and inhalers are available. Using one of these roughly doubles your chance of stopping smoking if you really want to stop. A pharmacist, GP, practice nurse or Stop Smoking Clinic can advise about NRT. There is also a separate leaflet called 'Nicotine Replacement Therapy' which gives more details. Also You can find in Google (Yahoo, MSN etc) some of this queries: stop smoking stop smoking programs ways to stop smoking how to stop smoking stop smoking pill stop smoking shot stop smoking products easy way to stop smoking stop smoking drugs no smoking stop smoke smell stop smoke how to stop smoke |

I am for the Cubana. I'd love to see more Cubana models, especially the classics, like SZuper Connie, and the Viscount 700, not to mention the Britania.
