No, I didn't make it. I paid $95 for it. mastercustoms just finished it and sent some pictures. It is SWEET, isn't it. I may have to do a UAL A380 or a PAN AM MD-90. I can't decide.

I thought you made it. But still nice work.

Edit: Speaking of that, where did you order the decals, As I might follow your footsteps, making one special PAL fantasy A380 for my collection of PAL fleet.
I met the guy on Wings900. He said he would do it. All I know is it was a GJ donor. I really need to figure out how to do this. It's so beautiful. I am in awe. I can't wait until I have this puppy in my hands.

Do you really believe it is a lucrative business? Do you really believe that I can resign at work and dedicate myself to custom making diecast models? Buddy you are so full of it, if you have some knowledge of this hobby let`s put the #`s in here and let`s see:
1. Average price for the GJAFR652 $40 + $8 shipping = $48
2. One hour of designing and test printing decals = $18
3. Clear coating the model = $7
4. Let`s not count in running the risk of ruinning a $48 donor = priceless
Total comes out to: $73 - $95 = $22
Do you really consider $22 to be a lucrative business?
At $22 how many customs do you believe I have to make to be able to live of this or to make it a "lucrative" business?
One last thing, if you think you got the talent and blessing to do customs, you are more than welcome to join the competition

The 7 Dollars Here, 8 Dollars There Sure Add Up Quick Don't They?
I've Paid 1oo Bucks For Rare Models That Sold Regul;ar Price Retail, So 95 Bucks Is Not A Big Deal For Such A Custom.
I Just Wonder How Those Guys That Sell Customs For 50 Bucks Make Money.

Incidentally Can You Make One Of These? (Minus The Variant Inset)

That`s right, few bucks here and there they all add up, that is why most of the times I ask my customers to provide me with the donor, although I always make suggestions to try to get the best mould at the time so that their investment would be even better, customs are NOT a regular release, they need care, tender and love, I`ve run into situations where I`ve broken 2 donors to make one in order to satisfy the customer even though I loose money, people don`t see that.
You say you don`t know how some guys make customs for $50 and make money? the key here is the price of the donor, also that implies if you have to paint, mix paints, strip the model completely and then design windows, doors, cargo doors, etc. you know details...
Sometimes it is very complex, not as simple as Kaitanium says of $95 for a couple of decals, if it would`ve been that easy then anyone can make a good custom and this is not the case. I personally have somewhere around 15 custom models made by Chris (Vikingcustoms) and the cheapest one was $75 for a custom that didn`t need stripping cause it was the blank DW 767-300 model and the livery was a very simple one, I have a set of 727`s made by him and the average on them was $150 a piece, can this be called "lucrative" Kaitanium? back then when Chris was doing customs nobody used to say a thing about his prices even though they were ridicolous high, but he was the only one doing them
By the way guys if anyone have any requests, questions or concerns please contact me directly at mastercustoms@bellsouth.net

dont get me wrong, that PanAm was a sweet build but dang boy why you flaming on me - "so full of it"? just correct me if im wrong, a simple correction was all that was needed right. the word "buddy" doesnt lighten the situation either so either call me a full-of-it-prick or call me buddy, doesnt go both ways.

but whether or not you will apologize to me, i extend my apologies to you and the business and whether or not you will accept it, that would be your business.

here maybe i wasnt too clear in explaining what i meant and pissed the crap out of you. lemme restate

now there Master Customs, you are in a better position to correct me.

and if you are thinking i dont know jack about customs, you would be wrong because i do know the time, effort, and supplies that it takes to create just one model. so apologies again for my unclear statement.

this forum has got to be the best forum to find name calling i have ever been on. grown men (and or women) trying to get ahead of each other. congrats DAC you take the gold medal in my book.

How about this one.. ????

Can you design this kind of new tail logo along with the dark grey airline fonts and slap it on the A380

747 example.. Gotta love this fantasy tail logo....

Would probably look hot on a fat whale...

Modified Airliner Photos
Which one do you want? top or bottom? I can make both of them come true, please contact me directly at mastercustoms@bellsouth.net

Just to be clear, the first one is not a fantasy livery, is just old colors, you never know if PAL decides some day to paint an aircraft back in those colors, anyways I sent you a reply.

i am looking at makeing 2 custom models for my kids, but all i know is the reg # and aircraft names i would like to add , fantasy of course , i am from scotland and my wife indonesia ,
reg # V-ICKY
REG# B-ALEN

aircraft name , Sanur Beach
& island of bali

a mix of 2 airlines representing us both would be fine , maybe one aircrafts fuselage, the others tail

how would a cathay pacific/ british airways hybrid look, as this is the codeshare i used to fly to bali on several occasions

Well maybe you can decide to have a split livery model, one side you put one registration and the other registration for the other side, maybe CX on one side and BA on the other, there are tonnes of things you can do on a custom, drop me a line at mastercustoms@bellsouth.net

Master Customs, do u customize / convert 1/200 scale models too? say, Herpa Premium B744 or B722? when u customize, is that decals as kaitanium mentioned? or do u paint?

this model has transparent windows. is that OK? how much would it cost approximately? for Euro-white livery like JAL. vs. blue Korean Air?

Thanks in advance!

*P.S. btw, i will provide the donor model for customization.

Yes I work on any scale, as far as painting or decaling it all depends, sometimes they require paint, sometimes decals and sometimes both. The base paint on the fuselage is not a big deal on a custom, the deal here is designing the type of livery that you want done, also keep in mind that working on a Herpa premium a $180 + dollars donor has it risks, if I break it I have to pay for it but send me a picture of what you need and let`s see, please contact me directly at mastercustoms@bellsouth.net

How about donor Gemini A380s at $33-36 each? Or even cheaper in quantity.
