Default Building Boeing 747-200 1:144 scale

I bought this set a few days ago. It`s the cutaway display 747 from Revell.

The left side has panels removed to see the interior.

But i dont want that, so i am using a donor-set i`ve had laying around since i was a kid, simply cutting out the sidepanels and fitting it to my new plane

Here she`s done:

Now the work begins to seal the cracks and get the fuselage clean. Not an easy job i think, but hey, thats the fun of it
Updates are coming...
Thank you for watching
Frank

Geez...I thought those cutaway models were worth some coin. I guess there is one less kit available now.

I want a realistic model, and it wont be with big holes along the fuselage. I`ve been searching for a "normal" 747-200 for a long time, and there`s nothing available. Thats why i am covering them. And this aircraft will sit along the other aircrafts i have in 1:144 on an airport i am building. Then i need whole panels But i`m sure this model is nice with the interior visible also

Great work Frank! Are you going to have this 742 on landing or take-off roll?

Good job, Frank! I almost wouldn't notice the pax window joints on the fuselage if you didn't post the original pics. Keep it up...can't wait to see the finished model! Cheers!

Thank you all, glad you like it Since the fuselage had sidepanels missing, the blue stripe in this SAS livery, that goes along the windows also is incomplete. So i am not going to use it. It`s still going to be SAS though, i have the 80`s SAS livery laying around also. Personally i think its nicer too

Bill-ay: This aircraft will have flaps set for landing, with full flaps, slats and spoilers

More updates soon.

I love the original Revell 747-100/200 kits. I still have the old original NASA 741 & Shuttle kit from the 70's which I have yet to start on as well as the TWA Advent 741.

These kits you could find very easily in the 80's and Revell made them in Europe too. In Switzerland I remember every model shop having the Revell 747, DC-10 and A310 in Swissair and in Germany it was the same models in Lufthansa. They also did the 747 in Air France and Sabena. In the US in the 80's you could find mostly these European airlines with these kits as I never saw any Pan Am or TWA kits available.

This SAS is a re-release of an old 70's kit and I got bought mine in London in Hamleys last year for around GBP 19.99.
