Did you mix it? Sry for all the ?s. Its just that its my first kit. The guy at the hobby shop told me the less expensive airbrushes are, the less better they are. Is this true? Once again, Sry.

i think the cheaper the airbrushes are the shorter they will last and the less accurate they are.

i only mixed tamiya white with tamiya sky grey. i didnt even open my bottle of aircraft gray

As a note, J.N. Grey will come out a little bit green, just FYI.

Hey guys,my ANA came today, and I was wondering whether I should plug up the windows and just put the decals on, or leave them open.

thats your call. i covered them up so i wouldnt have to poke holes in the decals and risk tearing them. it takes alot more work though to plug them up as you will need a backing. for this ana i just plugged them up without a backing but its harder because putty could fall right into the fuselage.

no. testors non-toxic cement. super glue does not melt plastic together for the strongest hold you can get. with ONE exception: when you have painted over a surface already and try to glue something onto it with cement it wont work as well as super glue. i used super glue for the wing join as i had already painted the wing root on the fuselage and the cement couldnt melt the plastic together.

An easier way to plug windows is to take toothpick and put elmers glue in the windows after you paint it. It will dry clear and give it a real 'look' to it.

The only problem is after I put the decals on, I don't know how to poke through the decal to the window. Should I use like a pin or something?

Just a quick question on what type of paints and clear coat you used? Were the pints flats? Thanks. Patrick

only the black for the tires were flat. everything else, the grays mostly came out flat but tamiya didnt label these paints as flat. the white parts of the plane is pure primer, i didnt bother coating it with white.

clear coat was a floor polishing acrylic called Future.

John, you dont have to poke thrugh the window! If you fill the window and then sand it down flat, the decal will sit flat on the model.

Ususally Tamiya has a system for labelling paints. Is the paint number in XF-** it is usually flat. Before painting, you could test the paint on a piece of the sprue to see if it is gloss or flat, and if it is flat, you could also add some clear gloss to the flat to help so that it will be more glossy than just pure flat.
