Default How to make custom models

Hi i have bought a revell British airways A319 paint kit and really this is my first shot at making one myself. any good advice such as painting, best method to applying decals....

please let me know as i dont want to make a mess of it

main problem for me would be applying decals i do know that their are prone to rip and are very delicate any ideas how to apply

Sounds like you're doing a scale plastic model.

If you want to get any tips on assembling, decaling and painting, you should visit sites about scale modeling like

etc...

You'll find most everything you want to know about scale modeling there.

As this is your first plastic kit attempt, don't kill yourself trying to make it perfect. It takes many tries to get that perfect model.
The first thing any good modeller will need is patience.
A kit like that isn't designed to be able to go together in one night.

While not a pro, I have been building plastic models for many years and use a number of different techniques based on the result I am looking for.
Rather than post a novelette here, I'll second Phantom's post and recommend trying one of the links posted.
