Pan Am helped develop numerous other airlines, including Mexicana, AVENSA in Venezuela, Panagra (Pan American Grace Airways) in South America, and Ariana in Afghanistan.

Thanks!
The livery just looked similar to that one of Pan Am.

Arrow Don´t you all forget these!

There are some more airlines either founded by Pan Am or at least gotten help being developed:
  • Compania Panamena de Aviacion SA (Copa Panama)
    Lineas Aereas Costarricenses SA (LACSA)
    MEA - Middle East Airline
    SAHSA

now do you folks "get" why it was such a shame to see PanAm shut down? and why it is even more of a shame that the current imposter is allowed to use the name and symbols?

No Pan Am helped them alright! In 1934. In 1959, Pan American sold holdings to the Mexican Government.

Look at this Bristol Britannia of Aeronaves. Clearly Pan Am played a roll in the airline.

Cool!!! I did not know that. Kind of contradicting isn't it? Since PAN AM had already holdings in Mexicana since the early 20's until the late 50's early 60's.

Pan Am helped jump start the airlines. But for what you say both Mexicana and AeroMexico are currently or were under SINTRA group. I still don't understand the way the airlines really work down there!

Well, CINTRA (Corporacion Internacional de Transportes Aereos) was formed in the early 90s to control a big interest in the boggest mexcian airlines and their affiliate companies. Mexicana, Aeromexico, Aerlitoral, Aerocaribe/Aerocozumel, Aeroperu, SEAT Alas de America, and the reservation centers.

If you want more info let me know. My father was the vice-president of CINTRA.
