Even thought I'm not much of a Cubana fan, I must say that's a wonderful custom you've made Chris!

Btw, did you make the polished/chrome belly yourself? Or was it part of the base model? Either way, it looks quite realistic

That was the base color for the Swissair DC-8, it looks great but it made it hard for me because it meant that I had to repaint the top half white.

Actually I think three existed, information from the soon to be no more “Commercial Jet Aircraft Census by Bill Harms “

W 45611 127 DC8-43 CONWAY 12 02/02/61 CUBANA CU-T1201 CF-TJI [W/O 07OCT76 - BARBADOS]

W 45638 156 DC8-43 CONWAY 12 12/16/61 CUBANA CU-T1200 [W/O 18MAR76 - HAVANA]

S 45612 135 DC8-43 CONWAY 12 03/22/61 CAPITOL INTL N8021V CF-TJJ,CU-T1210,C-FTJJ,OB-R1142,6Y-JMF [B/U 1983]

Here is a picture of me and what is left of 45612/135 N8021V exCF-TJJ,exCU-T1210,exC-FTJJ,exOB-R1142,ex6Y-JMF

N8021V (45612/135)

I had worked at Capitol Air in the summer of 1984 and the airplane had been striped of all useful parts. Around January 1985, I came out to see what was left of Capitol Air after in went bankrupt and came across what was left of N8021V.

So your model does have a special meaning for me.
