Hi Bob,
Yes this is the new livery. The colors and clarity are a little off as the reference art I had to work from was lacking. However, I wanted to produce it before our collectors show next weekend on the 29th. It will be in the ADI airport display next to the Hawaii Express DC-10 that is flying in from Florida. Aloha, Chris

I think JAL's old colours were a lot nicer than this new scheme.

Now how am I supposed to cut down this livery when you put so much effort into making it look good.
Of course, as said in another thread, just about anything looks good on a MD11. Well done Chris, if the 1:1 version looks as nice I may have to change my thinking on this, now cut it out will ya, and let me hate this livery in peace.

Gerat job Chris.
The following is a critique on the new JAL livery and not your model. I think the new JAL logo is cool. They should have at the least incorporated the old lcrane ogo on the jet engines, or on fuselage next to the Japan Airlines text. The tail design is just plain boring. What is it a rising sun over Mr. Fuji? Or is it a wave with the Rising Sun behind it, or is it both? Their attempt to create a brand identity is going to backfire. The present crane logo is very recoganizable and really gave JAL the brand identity they are looking for. Problem is this new livery shows that it was approved and designed by committee. Something not too uncommon in the Japanese Corportate world. No one is allowed to step out of the box and be bold. Too bad. |
