You did a magnificent job on that one. If the manufacturers don't care to deliver on requests from we collectors, then the quality of models being custom built of late more than makes up for it. Way to go

I have always thought that the British TriStar was a pretty plane.

This is probably the plane that brings out the best of the BA Red Tail. The 747-200 in this colour is not too bad either. Can't wait for it to be produced.

The model looks very very nice, you did an awesome job with it.
But why did you use the GJ mould?
The DW L1011 looks so much nicer!
I hope this is not taken as GJ bashing, it is not, I love GJ and have most of their releases including the L1011s.
But I like the type too much to be satisfied with this "compromise mould".
If GJ decides to do this beaury I hope they take the oportunity to make/develop/buy a new mould.

Outstanding! This would look good next to Andrew's 707.
Man, I wish I could do a job like that!
Well done!

Great job! Amazing that neither GeminiJets nor DragonWings already made this beauty...

C'mon, gimme the BRITISH AIRWAYS L-1011 in their Union Jack colours!

That is an outstanding piece of modelling, I'm jealous!!! However I have to agree with Eduardo's sentiments.
On an off topic note, it is a pet hate of mine when people refer to the flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as the Union Jack, the Jack refers to the flag when it is used as a naval ensign, if it is not being used as a naval ensign it is the Union Flag, sorry to be pedantic!

True, true... but GJ's are my preference for customizing as they are more durable to work on and are easier to disassemble (no parts snapping off). Since the L1011 is one of my favorites, I'm working on a technique to caulk the seem during construction for a better appearance! New updated photo of the completed BA L1011 with full detailing coming soon...

Btw... Stacy and I would like to thank everyone for the kind words... it's great to know our efforts are appreciated!

Hey Crownvic, surely if you had a word with Dan about this one, you could get him to release it for us?!?!?!?

Quick question before I comment on the actual post : what does your profile say HKG? I thought you were in ATL?!?!?!?

Now, Hannibal, SUPERB model. Very well done. The detailing etc is superb and the tail looks perfect. I see a few customs where the tail decal doesn't quite fit and it looks a bit shabby but this looks great!

Pity you didn't use the Dragon L1011 though and get rid of that seam!
