Default First go at a diorama....

Hi

First off, I would like to comment that DAC is a great forum- I have been wondering around the site for a few months, and have had an enjoyable time perusing the threads... Secondly, it is refreshing to see the nice comments directed towards other forum users - be it regarding a new model they have found, or their own model airport!

After seeing a model airport many years ago, it has been an aspiration of mine to make my own.. So finally (after a bit of inspriation from other DAC users' creations) I have made a small apron area.

It isn't much, but I had fun thinking about and making it. Made quickly and as an experiment, there are a few errors- a mismatch here, a spot of glue there... Also, I am no photographer, so please excuse the quality...

It is only large enough for two Boeing 747-sized aircraft, and it has a perimeter fence, a service road, parking stand signs and flags... Models displayed are my collection of InFlight200 and Aviation200 aeroplanes (all South African as you might notice )...

Regards

HP

WOW.......... you have done a great job with your diorama

With the larger scale of 1:200 aircraft.... looks like you have created a nice space to have a display, whilst at the same time, creating a managable, mobile diorama

Cool

Looks really cool! I see you also have a paperbus there. Nice job with the Swissport logos.

Thanks for the comments!

It is a special South African Airways Boeing 747-300- "Ndizani"- used to transport the South African Olympic team to the games many years ago. Model made by InFlight200....

Yeah, it was part of my 'design' criteria- I stay with other people, and space is quite limiting! I think those who have 1:200 B747's can appreciate this!

Great job on the diorama, and I love the fleet. I am also in the process of building the same fleet, also I find the 1/200 B74s hard and expensive to come by...
Cheers

Oh, you mean the 747?

Had to try decifer that one for a while...

Yes, quite sad- watched it decay sitting there at the airport. Would love to have had a piece of the painted fuselage to hang on the wall..

Oh well

Very nice and great job. I want to make something sort of like this. More of a regional airport for ERJ's, Props, DC-9's, etc....
