I decided on what I want for runway approach lights. It is going to be a pain to drill all the holes I will need for both runways.

I am very happy to say that the terminal and ATC tower will be built by Brian (oliJFK) and not me or Herpa. After careful consideration I decided on the Bilbao (Spain) Terminal and its ATC tower. Here are photos of the actual terminal and ATC tower. I want to thank Brian for taking on this project.

Very nice!! My favorite part so far is the water. I have a little water on my newest airport but it's oil pastel but it looks pretty realistic. Can't wait to see more!

I am currently working on drilling holes so I can place fiber optics so I can have approach lights (over water) to both runways. I also plan to build a rock wall on the edge of the airport. Next to the rock wall will be a fence that will cover the perimeter of the airport. The final touch will be to add some fine touches to the water area/ rock wall and then pouring the Woodland Scenics water.

Brian, seeing quite a bit of your work over the past 4 years (and then some more of the stuff you posted on Wings before I even joined the site), I have to admit, you are quite possibly THE most gifted airport modeler that the hobby has.

I did some more painting last night. I will be covering the areas that are in black with Noch turf (minus .25" to use for taxiway lights).

Thanks! Just takes a lot of patience and precise cutting. The whole thing is made of cardboard and windows are clear plastic.

No problem Ramon!
So yeah, I'm pretty much done. That ATC tower was quite a challenge! Anyway, let me know if there are any concerns/suggestions. I'm gonna keep looking for tweaks. As far as the ATC tower, I didn't add any antenna's etc because they are easy to apply not to mention I doubt they would make the trip. Regards, Brian Last edited by oliJFK; 07-01-2009 at 06:11 PM. |
