Do you remember to GIANT PSA MD-80 and BAe-146 models under glass at the entrance to Disneyland back in 1984-85? My parents were pissed when we had to spend 1 hour walking round-and-round those displays instead of going into the park!
Having grown up in southern California and having gone to Disneyland AT LEAST twice a year I have to say "HOW DID I MISS THAT!?" I was 11 then and that was right about when I was collecting 1:600 Schabak's so I would have loved that.
What type of blade and thickness of plastic did you use? My own project isn't coming out nearly as nice (and I can't seem to cut a straight line--even with a ruler--to save my life).

It sounds like you are making the same mistake I did when I first started using styrene. You're probably using a smooth piece. Try using one with grooves in it and then facing the grooved side to the inside if you want a smooth external appearance. The most you have to do with a grooved piece is score it then just snap it off. Hope that helps.

All my pieces are "pretty damn SMOOTHE" (capyain ceneman
I use thick pieces for the roof, and thinner pieces for the walls.
I use a metal traight-edge and an xacto knife. Start with a very light cut...this will form a groove for your next pass and keep it stright as you apply pressure. One more light pass, then heavier and heavier till your through. TAKE YOUR TIME! I learned this the hard way. You can get the "sidewalk" or "tile" sheets to help you out like Peak says. I sometimes use this when making multiple right-angle cuts.
Good luck and keep us posted.
