Hello all! Anyone planning on coming to Orlando, Florida this year for their show? I'm planning on going. The show takes place from July 23 through the 25th. The site is www.ai2009.com. I was planning on entering a bunch of models in the contest.

Re: Airliner show- Orlando, FL July 23-25
Hello Crownvic. I forgot to answer back to your question in regards to what models I'm bringing. I'm hoping to bring many as possible since I will drive in my car this time. I plan on bringing a bunch of built Hasegawa kits for the model contest;, 727s, 737s, 747s, 767s, 777s, MD-80s and MD-90s, DC-9s, Wooster 757s, Doyusha DC-8s and a Concorde and before I forget hopefully an MD-11. I don't know if I'll sell them nor not. I'm hoping to find a couple of more Hasegawa kits to build too. Thanks!

Wish I was going this time, as you know cv I loved doing these shows, always had a great time doing them especially at the end of the day. best one for me was Colorado Springs, but I'll have to start with Seattle this year.

Damn it, I'll be in Orlando, like 5 min walk away from the show, but the day after it finishes, is there any chance of it running over a little?

Probably not. I take it your flight is on the 26th?
BTW, crownvic, I don't know what day you are planning to attend, but our flight home is on the 25th, so we may meet, or we may never meet. We'll just have to see how things plan out.

Re: Airliner show- Orlando, FL July 23-25
Hey all! I still plan on being up there and I'll bring some models to the contest. Some models I won't be able to bring since I can't finish them in time. Does anyone plan on bringing 1/200 and 1/144 decals to sell at the show?

And we have flights on those days. No flights on Sundays and Tuesdays. I might make a stop there in the morning/early afternoon or on the way in to the airport.
Red Lot STILL isn't open so spotting is looking doubtful. The guy I had talked to said that the lot was due to open "soon", but that was 3 weeks ago. Russ, does your friend at GOAA have any idea when/if they're opening the Red Lot back up?

Since this is practically a good 5 minute car ride for me, I'm also looking forward to going.
I've looked through the AI-2009 site and it does leave me a bit confused when it comes to admission. Like For admission, do we have to order our passes in advance, or can we pay at the door?

Yeah the three worst days for anyone who works in the airline industry.
You think a Ailiner show would have figured that out .
None the less if I can get some time I will see you guys there.
Who's going on what days???

You better stay out of that Red lot Justin, they might mistake you for a terrorist with that big camera of yours, god knows you might be hiding a ICBM in that thing.

Yeah thats their excuse to say "Yes, we are allowing photography". You can't see sh*t from there unless you have the Hubble Telescope for a lens.

I agree, the parking garage is useless you would be better off spotting from you car while driving down Conway RD.
Security is job one when it comes to spotters, maybe they should worry more about all the convicts they have working at the airport.
Russel I cant wait to see what you guys have setup, save something cool for me I will bring $$$$$$$$$.

Awesome, I'll definitely make a note to get out from school earlier when it pops up. Let's just hope that the Jury Duty that I got back for the 20th doesn't drag on for days.

Re: Airliner show- Orlando, FL July 23-25
I will be attending its only 15 minutes from my home. This will be my first AI show I have attended since AI 2000 in PHX. I will not have a table at this year’s event but I have a few duplicate items from my United Airlines collection I am looking to off load.
If anyone is interested I have a complete United Airlines pilots flight case from a retired United 757/767 captain (he retired in 1995) $200 OBO
(What is included?)
-Black leather flight case (used)
-Orange United Crew Tag (***RARE ITEM***)
-B757/767 Training & Reference manuals
-B757/767 Performance & Procedures manuals
- Worldwide Airport locations & Maps
- All the JEPPESEN High and Low Altitude Enroute Charts
- UAL INTERNATIONAL CHECKLIST from June 1994, with engine holding speeds & Fuel Flow Charts
-Boeing 757 and 767 pudgy stickers (new never used)
As well as a Captains flight cap w/ cap badge (era 1995) in great condition $150 OBO
I look forward the show his weekend I will be coming Saturday morning if anyone is interested in the flight case or hat I can meet you earlier if you need Thursday or Friday .

So, how was the first day of the show?? Not all of us are lucky enough to be
in the Florida sunshine. Details, we want details!!!!!! What's hot, what's new,
what specials are out there. Pictures, we need pictures!!!

I had a pretty good time for the first day of the Trade show, got to meet a few people, got some good things, pretty much full experiance (with photos of what I bought) here:
Some of mah buys from AI 2009.
Might Go back tomorrow for a bit more. Certainly have a few more dollars I don't mind parting with.

I'll be there tomorrow. Gotta pick up Jorge at MCO first and then probably some spotting, and then on to the show! I'll definately have my camera with me...battery is charging as I type.

Awesome, I'm likely going to be there tomorrow, and hopefully so will Paul (Rammstein). There is also an interesting Eastern Flight 401 exhibit at the show, including the FAs that survived, a passenger who survived and the only known piece of luggage to be recovered (a samsonite) as well as a piece of wreckage.

Re: Airliner show- Orlando, FL July 23-25
Went yesterday. Got to meet Crownvic (met him about 10 years ago too) and Bob from Sky's the Limit. Some guys were there from Gemini too. Wish I made more money as I would've snapped up the AV200 Delta 747-400 and Inflight200 Saul Bass United DC-10. I had to settle for the Phoenix 1:200 Boeing Roll Out 787-8.
