Not this year I'm afraid, but I'm sure you'll all have a great day out! Hopefully Robert, you could take a few snaps!

I won't be there either this year. I shall be indulging in another interest of mine on a narrowboat. Will be at Kempton though.

it was on for £175 at AIRSPOTTERS, but Malcolm let me have it for £150 as last one. as you may know there have been loads and loads with damaged decals. corgi decalled the roundels and loads have rubbed off/got damaged in transit. this one had just a couple of nicks on it. and CORGI have decided to recall and replace the decals with better ones.

What were the prices on the 1/100 757s? (Think there was a Martinair and another one)

Had a good day there . Met 'C.O. Rudy' from the forums with his four Aeroclassics Malev B737-200s and came away with one of these beauties.
Also found three Aeroclassics Air Canada DC-9s in different schemes, SMA United B737-200, GJ Southwest B737-200 and a Dragon Wings Northwest DC-10 in thermometer scheme.

ARD had a 'Bargain Box' with lots of goodies from £5...but I resisted!

Air Spotters had Inflight200 BAC One-Elevens at the same price as 1/400 scale versions...incredible.

Thank you Robert for taking time to take and to posting those pictures..Great job..I like the 1/100 Iberia A340-600 and Fed Ex DC-10 cutaway..

The Air India and TMA 747 models looked interesting too, I imagine 1/144 kits built up...

Went for the first time myself, courtesy of a cheap BA return from GLA to LGW. Quite an impressive collection of stuff too. I got a few things not all my usual 1:400 scale either, just a brand new Gemini United 744 in that respect for a very respectable £25. Also got a ready built Airfix Trident 1C in 1:144 (Negus), a little wooden model of DH88 for a friend plus a Wooster BA Landor 757 for my small collection of snap-fits. One or two little trinkets too including a nice BA Negus era, Tristar metal key ring from some nice old ladies with all sorts of retro airline memorabilia. Had a chat with a few people, not sure if any of them are on here or not, then after about four hours jumped back on the the vintage bus ride to Gatwick and spent several hours wandering round before the 2145 to Glasgow. Good day out and will consider going next year too.

well done AL!!! you just never know what you will find at these shows. there is another show at KEMPTON PARK RACECOURSE nr Heathrow on SUNDAY 7TH MAY! and another one at Kempton in November. there are other regional ones, but these 3 are the biggest.

I'm a little bit late on this thread as work has kept me away from DAC for the last few weeks - but I made it to the event (for the first ever time) and I also met Rudy as well, had a good chat with him, a really nice guy and he also helped me with 2 very rare models - a BigBird400 Cathay Pacific 747-200 & Saul Bass United 747-100 I saw all four of those Malevs, lovely models but not in my collecting criteria. Sounds like you left with a decent haul yourself! Picked up quite a few other bits of British Airways memorabilia as well. Really enjoyed it and would definitely go again, well worth it.

Hi Big Al, only just managed to get back on here properly due to work - just saw your post in the 'show your latest' thread, sorry I missed that but glad you made it to the show in the end I met two ladies at a BA stall and picked up quite a few Negus goodies myself - a double-deck of playing cards from BA 1st Class, the iconic red tail scarf which belonged to the lady who sold it to me from her BA days and lots of old airline tickets from another stall. A mate of mine picked up a nice glass tankard with the Negus BA emblem on it too. Glad you enjoyed it, will definitely go again myself

Now I did see a bloke looking very pleased with himself picking up a Cathay 742 he'd been after for ages and splashing the cash at the stall run by the Dutch guys, also saw a Saul Bass 747 there I was swithering over too. Was that you then ?

Would of be interested to to see if he had any 757s left. I think he raided the space models stock for that lot!

I took a friend of mine this year who was a first timer and categorically told me he "wouldn't be buying anything". Ended up spending all the cash in his wallet and then borrowing some of mine! Had my eye on a 1/200 GJ Delta 717, but it was snapped up by the time I went back. Already itching for Kempton!
