Default Airliners International 2017

Here it is 4 months out and the Crowne Plaza host hotel is sold out..Other area hotels around DIA are also charging a fortune for rooms. What is going on in Denver mid -June that there are no deals???

I know there is demand in the Rockies for the campers and hikers, but I am talking way out East in the suburbs?

Just get there early so you can have a crack at all the prime models for sale. Before 'Leggo my Eggo' arrives and scoops up all the good birds. Cheers! T7

He won't be there unless he changed plans. He originally booked tables and later realized the dates interfered with vacation plans.

Come on T7, be a man and name the name.

Or do you want to hide behind annonymity and the "But I didn't say it was... HIM... did I".

I have a good idea who you all ar on about as it stems from another thread.

W has done a lot of expand many peoples collections with fair pricing.

I must say that I am a bit disappointed in your comments here, considering the other threads where you express that you don't want to be 'that kind of person' anymore.

It's like those Harry Potter movies. You couldn't say Voldemort's name.

I thought mentioning his name here is now taboo? Some other members said they were suspended/banned for just mentioning his name on the DAC. I didn't want to go to the penalty box for stating his name in this thread. Best option was to use a decades old commercial and people would put 2 + 2 together. I found no harm in posting a funny commercial that related to a bfast meal. I hope you didn't take offense to the Leggo my Eggo commercial?

Please let me know if I am mistaken that you are allowed to mention his name without any repercussions on the DAC. Personally, I've never had a problem with this man. Reason for that is I've never had to purchase anything from him, but he sure was a lightning rod on this forum over the years. We've all read the many, many threads that were associated to him on the DAC. So I played the 'safe' card and avoided mentioning his name/store.

Cheers! T7

Oh, you are correct in that he's provided some fantastic and fair deals on his models. Which is cool IMO. It was unfortunate that I was unable to personally meet up with at the LAX show. Would have been nice to personally chat with him, instead of just an email. T7

I wanted to ask him in person the $$$$ question. Why did he use that name for his store? When I hear the name my kids favorite breakfast meal comes to mind. So I was kind of curious why that particular name for his online retail store. I'm guessing that you can't forget that name for sure. I kinda like it myself. T7

Can you somebody confirm or clarify if it's OK to mention the name on the DAC? I just reviewed several threads on the DAC. I've seen some DAC members mention the name on posts, and I've seen other DAC members that warn not to post his name/store. What is the direction the DAC owners/Mods are taking with this person/retailer on the DAC? I am totally confused. Thank you, T7

I am almost certain one may say the name Michael Warfel.

I am also under the impression that one can say something like "Wow, that model on e-bay went for $200. I bought mine recently on a collection sale at Waffle Collectibles for $100"

What I think would be an issue is advertising a retailer who isn't a sponsor of DA.C
As such one might not post links to his site for new releases etc.

What I am also a bit unclear of is a case where a collector is looking for a long out-of-production model and another collector knows it is available as part of a collection sale from Waffle. Would one then be allowed to post a link to that? It would not take anything away from a sponsor.

I also wonder if the link is not allowed, if one can at least mention a search term a fellow collector could use.

After all, this site is for collectors to share information and the love of these models. And what could be better than helping a fellow collector get that model they are looking for?

I think in another thread the moderator said one can mention the name, but may not post links to his site as that would be promoting a competitors site. Maybe the moderator will post the clarification on this thread.

I appreciate the reply. So Michael Warfel equates to the origin of the name of his online store; replace the 'r' to get Waffle. I think I got it now.

I am also unclear of the posting of external links to 'non-sponsor' retailers. I do believe that a particular DAC member (I don't know if I can say his username on the DAC anymore?) had created a thread for AV World YYZ virtual tour. I thought that was kind of nice of him to do that, and it seemed the Moderator had no issue with that thread.

I have on occasion posted comments where I had scooped up my latest 1/200 models on the DAC. I've never posted any online links to that specific retailer. Other collectors have thanked me for the FYI on where to get that model or other models they were looking for here in Canada.

I agree with you on that's it always cool to see on the DAC other collectors helping out eachother on where to go for some specific model requests.

Hopefully the moderator is reading this thread and could provide some clarity to your questions.

Regards, T7

That would make sense to me. I've mentioned AV World YYZ a 'few' times on the DAC, but I have never posted links to their website. We appreciate your response. Yes, hoping the Moderator can provide us with some clarity on this matter. Thank you, T7
