My German relatives are in Nurnberg
(another connection here: Herpa is not far away I think).
But in 1966 I had my first 727 flight in a Pan American -100
to what is now near your part of the world:
from JFK to St. Thomas USVI, landing on the old 4600 foot runway-with-the-hill-at-the-end.
Also memorable for the horribly hard hard stop at the -very- end of the runway!
And my first view of Caribair...but thats another forum/thread/story!.....
