How right you are about this being an addiction!! This last year my wife has been in another country thousands of miles away, so I've been running riot, and have weeks left to think up a plausible story as to why the apartment has filled up with models while she's been away, it's great!!!!

About the Nowotny Me262, I guess as he was such a great pilot with a distinctive aircraft it is a model many will be interested in even though the great pilot was killed on his first combat sortie in a Me262. There is still a lot of controvery about his death, was he shot down or did he have a catastrophic mechanical failure? His last words were a garbled message containing the word burning. The history of the Nowotny Kommando is tragic reading, those early Me262's were death traps, as the German's were so desperate they did the final testing phase in squadron service.

A few pilots did achieve ace status on the Me262, Kurt Welter achieved over 20 kills with it, even Galland scored 7 of his kills in the 262.

Ed is right about it being hard to keep up to speed with this company as their marketing is so low key and their catalogue is terrible. I seem to get my news through these forums, a couple of friends here at home who also collect them and occasional visits to shops with a large stock. I wish CDC would set up a good web site with regular updates to keep us all informed!!

Take care,

Justin
