Smile Poo poo to Friday the 13th!!

..... Pah! I'm not superstitious. Other numbers have been far unkinder to me than 13.
  • I was almost killed twice on the 24th (land mine in Viet Nam and a train wreck in Western New York).
  • I ended up in the hospital with heart problems on the 10th twice.
  • Both my parents died on the 28th of the month exactly six months apart.
  • On the fifth (5 is unlucky to Chinese BTW) I was shipwrecked off Labrador (you could call that another "almost killed"), arrived in Viet Nam for 18 months with the Marines and lost my last job .
..... I don't really recall anything of significance happening bad on Friday the 13th. As far as that goes this past Friday was pretty good. I sold an old air-conditioner we had no further use of for $60, $10 more than I was really expecting to get. I found a dollar bill and several coins along the way on my morning walk. Got a letter (a real letter mind you) from someone I had not heard from in several years. No bills came in the mail, but our tax rebate cheque was scheduled to be sent to us that day. I felt good all day and spent it with wife who had off. Not a bad Friday the 13th.
..... I don't pay that much heed to numbers. Coincidence, that's all. I don't worry any more on the 5th, 10th, 24th or 28th any more than any other day of the month.
Dave (I even have a black cat living next door)
