Yes - the top 2 'nostrils' funnel air directly to the air filter which is positioned much closer to the front of the car than you would normally think. This system is not 100% air tight but there is an aftermarket kit you can buy to make it so and gain about 5-10 more HP over the stock 320 HP. However, the system is designed to keep out most junk before it hits the air filter.

Any aftermarket 'blower' type application would cost a lot more $$ and would be a b-itch to install on this car w/o hood mods. A better alternative would be a turbocharger, hi-performance computer chip plus headers, etc etc.

Ram Air is really a generic term but it has been used with other Pontiacs like the GTO. FYI there is a limiter that shuts the car off when it hits 162 mph so theoretically the TS is 170 or more STOCK. It is technically the 3rd fastest mass-produced US car (ok so it is made in Canada but anyway) behind the Vette and the Viper. It is the fastest and best handling car that Pontiac has ever made - even better than the famed GTOs, etc.
