Default Re: Herpa 1:200

I assume you're referring to the Herpa QF A380 or the China Eastern A380? Yes they are grossly overpriced. The same QF A380 can be purchased made by Hogan which is the same mould albeit unassembled and in different packaging and for roughly half the price.

Herpa is basically a designer label in 1:200 scale, similar to IF200. All their plastic 1:200's are manufactured by Hogan and assembled and packaged by Hogan and stamped and sold as Herpa. Its not often you're fortunate enough to find the same model manufactured by both Hogan and Herpa, the QF A380 and Alaska 737-900 being exceptions.

One thing I'm at least releaved about is that to date, I have yet to see or hear of any Herpa model being assembled incorrectly. The landing gears, wings and horizontal stabs are all assembled perfectly and fitted perfectly. I dread the day I see a Herpa 1:200 with incorrectly installed landing gears or other assembly flaws.
