Yeah, I'm actually a bit of a plastic kit convert. I was really into them until a few years ago when I moved out to Hawaii, where space is at a premium, so my 1:400 collecting started gaining momentum again. However, I do plan on getting back into plastic kits when I move back to the mainland around the end of the year.

BTW, it does look like the nail polish remover will eat into the plastic a little bit. However, I think if you keep the contact to a minimum, it may not be noticeable. But that's more risk than I feel like taking with this model, so I'm just going to paint over the engines. And if you're curious.... I'm working on converting a 1:400 Herpa Niki A320 into Northwest new colors and a GJ USAir 727-200 from 1980s colors into 1990s colors.
