I may be old fashioned, but I holiday here in the UK with my kids and they seem to enjoy it. We do loads of great things.
I did take them on aircraft from an early age, but only on short flights (up to 60 minutes) to visit relatives and they were always kept under control, occupied and were well behaved. It shouldn't be difficult to keep kids occupied with all the electronic games these days and the IFE. In my day we had colouring books and comics. (Makes me sound like a grumpy old man!)
When my family travelled back from Singapore in 1970 on a BOAC B707, they had "skycots", they hung from the overhead hatracks (no luggage bins) and the babies slept in there. Thats where my 1 year old sister stayed for most of the journey.

youre all takeing this too far, sorry but my 1 year old hasnt quite mastered a hand held game console yet, i often find it is arrogant adults who kick the back of your seat and put there seat back when you are trying to sit up for dinner or fat chinese guys who take up two seats on a 12 hour flight, i will be takeing my 2 children to hong kong and bali on the 17 febuary 12 + 5 hour flight so bring the ear plugs if your going to be there .
as for the kids club , the gran and grandpa kids club love haveing the kids visit as its only every 2 years they come round. not so much of a holiday for me but a fair upbringing in both familys as much as i can .
