Yes it is! It's not fair on the poor kids being dragged along on a 10 hour flight just because their parents "need" a holiday. Then they spend the next fortnight in the kids club while the parents enjoy the beach and the bar.

I may be old fashioned, but I holiday here in the UK with my kids and they seem to enjoy it. We do loads of great things.

I did take them on aircraft from an early age, but only on short flights (up to 60 minutes) to visit relatives and they were always kept under control, occupied and were well behaved. It shouldn't be difficult to keep kids occupied with all the electronic games these days and the IFE. In my day we had colouring books and comics. (Makes me sound like a grumpy old man!)

When my family travelled back from Singapore in 1970 on a BOAC B707, they had "skycots", they hung from the overhead hatracks (no luggage bins) and the babies slept in there. Thats where my 1 year old sister stayed for most of the journey.
