Default Re: The next Gemini200 domestic release guys??

I'll pass on the Southwest, but glad to see the -700 mould is here as well.

I'll admit, my first reaction when I saw that retractable/removable gear was the new feature was "oh no, exactly what we DIDN'T want!" But it appears Gemini pulled it off pretty well, and going for removable gear was certainly better than attempting to do it how they did with the 250s. I'm indifferent about the new feature though; it doesn't do much for me, but it certainly doesn't take anything away as it looks like the gear is nicely designed. But it sounds like most of you guys are really digging it, so I say congrats to Gemini for implementing something that seems overall popular among collectors. I suppose displaying a model or two with a stand and no gear might add a little something different to a display though.

The mould, especially the nose, looks pretty ace, MUCH better than IF 737s. The printing and details look top notch as well!

One complaint I have though is the hole in the bottom of the fuselage for the stand and the very unsightly "GeminiJets" stamp (nothing against the logo, but it's not on the belly of the real thing so shouldn't be on the belly of the models!) A very inconspicuous logo like that on the belly of Herpa Premiums would have been much more ideal IMO. I know that most all manufacturers put a bright and colorful namepiece of some sort on the bottom of their models, but I think it should have been done a little more professionally and less noticeably, a la Herpa Premiums, for these top of the line GJs.

Anyway, those are very MINOR nitpicks! I'll reserve final judgement once I have a model in hand, but these sure are looking nice overall! Especially for the 50-60 dollar pricetag; I think this new line from GJ has some serious potential and it looks like they are majorly upping the ante for 1:200 scale airliners. Good job GJ, and thank-you!

I only hope they aren't too tardy in releasing some 'nentals on the -700 and -800 mould, not to mention the 752 in a few months.
