This cracked tyre business is interesting. It looks like the tyre material is shrinking, or drying out in some way. Surely this really is a manufacturing fault that the factory need to sort out. Will happen to every tyre ever fitted or just those unlucky enough to have tyres from a bad batch ?
There is/was a diecast toy manufacturer in France called Solido. At one time their vinyl tyres started to melt the ABS plastic wheel hubs on the models. Horrible mess !
Will aircraft model manufacturers offer free tyres through the retailers or do you have to contact the factory direct ?
