Default Re: Gas prices

Problem is, many oilfields around the world are nearing depletion. Within the next 20 years, if no new fields are discovered, we'll be up the brown creek unless we find alternate fuel sources. Ethanol is not the answer, like was stated above, since it takes an enormous amount of corn to produce a gallon of the stuff. The Middle East nations know the gravy train is nearing the end, so they'll continue to squeeze until they can't get another drop or penny. China and India are trying to bring their standard of living up to the First World standards, but with over two billion people combined, that ain't too likely...but they're going to suck up a lot of oil in the meantime.
