My friends told me that the average gas price in U.S. is like $2.50. That suggests that Californians are the ones SUFFERING the most. Because we, the Californians, have a lot of vehicles compared to few smaller states COMBINED. (sorry to any Wyoming, Idaho, Dakotans etc) They are probably trying to stick it to us, 'liberal states.' lol.

where i live, LA, it's about $3.60 for unleaded 87 octane... thank goodness i don't own those NEWER, PERFORMANCE CARS that require unleaded 92 octane! (MB, Lexus, BMW to name a few) Only Infiniti G35 u can get by not using 92 octane I heard; but then, why would you own expensive car if you can't afford it in the first place? roflmao! it's like seeing people wait at SAMS or COSTCO GAS in their ESCALADES, NAVIGATORS, MB S550 SL550 CLK550 or AMG or M3, M5, etc. roflmao. isn't that funny? i find it VERY AMUSING

Kaitanium, I still saved up those GAS RECEIPT from 2001 - 2002 immediately after 911 attacks. It was $.89 the cheapest here. Those receipts are my living proofs that can be done... But then again, these gas execs, receive record-high bonus etc... good for them and their children...

once, i turned off engine and pushed car to front while sitting down, just using my left foot out the door, lol; just to try it out, heh heh. ghetto fabulous baby!
I heard its more because of the high gas tax. I remember hearing that a conciderable amount of most states' gas prices happen to be the gas tax themselves. The theory is if you drive a bigger vehicle, you're wearing the road down more than lets say the guy driving a motorcycle. As for refineries, its not that the gas companies and the government don't want to build them, its more like THEY WON'T. I said the same thing on W900, and I'll say it here. When a new gas refinery is announced, all these crazy pro-green wackos starts saying "Its ruining the earth" and start lobbying congress like dart going at a dart board. The oil companies say "GASP, we are runing the earth, we agree with you enviromental friend" and throw a bunch of numbers at congress on why the US dosn't need more refineries. What they are saying is this "Thank you Enviromental lobbyist, you sure saved our Multi-Billion dollar profits from being decimated because of the people's demands for more supply which would make lower prices and less money to us."

At least we don't have it as bad as those in the EU where gas is like 1.39 Euro per liter for gas.
