They must've forgotten what was 'successful' as KB hoisted numerous shots early in the shot clock and never really ran the 'plays.'
'Me against the World' Kobe, nevertheless, alienates his teammates. He must've not taken any physics or trigonometry course in school. Passing and swing the ball will always gonna be faster and effective, period. A TRUE LEADER WILL always find a way to involve teammates and find open mate for easier shot!!!; Suns pass the ball and it's more fun to play and watch! Did I also mention that it is also effective?
I really think laker players are all quite talented. They just had a few selfish people... KB number one. Blinded by flashes and spotlights of scoring 50+ points in consecutive games, he took the game upon himself and sometimes blamed teammates for misfortune.
I remember many games that bench players pulled through and got the victory. It was on December 20, when Phil Jackson benched all starters (Lamar was injured though) to begin the 4th quarter trailing by 10 points to the Timberwolves in Minnesota. Laker reserves stormed back to beat the Wolves by 17 points. I knew then that these 'reserves' were something special.
One thing that TICKS ME OFF THE MOST; Laker players complain at the refs and never get back on DEFENSE!!! it's always like 4 on 5 because a player is always complaining at the other end; most notably, Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom. basketball IQ is seriously questioned here... Thanks for leaving teammates vulnerable. They must've gotten it from the Hollywood stars or rich celebs in L.A. They always want to be pampered by refs etc it seems...
Luke - I think he's smart and has basketball knowledge and IQ, but somehow the body doesn't seem to support what he wants to do. I hope he will remember to post up Leandro Barbosa more often next season... u gotta make layups...
Lamar - why are you shooting threes? when everyone knows that you are more effective off the dribble to the basket or inside? I will rather have Farmer or Shammond shoot threes...
Kwame's gotta go - I still vividly remember him getting blocked by Marko Jaric against Minnesota... Kwame's got definite height advantage too! yikes!
Vujacic - sure, he may hit all those outside jumpers in practice; if he can't reproduce similar results in actual game situations, then what's the use?
Smush P - I think Farmer is better PG, better player.
Mo Evans - He's talented i think and athletic. He blames teammates too much though after opponent scores and he sometimes become a bit selfish; reminds me of watching Clipper players 8 years ago or so. When all the players were trying to buff up their stats and 'EARN' contracts or to be traded to winning teams.
Bynum and Farmer sort of makes me less worried, I think they will become pretty good players themselves soon.
I don't know. I like LA teams. I think we need to get rid of Kobe and Lamar and start fresh. Until KB changes, Lakers will always end up losing and blame its players for 'standing around'
I know many will disagree with me. I don't think KB can lead a team to win a championship. I think he's rather a 2nd string. Unless he has a dominant center, it will be difficult to replicate the success Lakers enjoyed early 2000s. Don't get me wrong though, KB IS TALENTED INDIVIDUAL! I am hopeful that one day he can use all his abilities and still be successful; because game of basketball requires more than INDIVIDUAL abilities and knowledge. It requires collective efforts.

Jason, you're 142% right about Kobe.
Even Michael Jordan couldn't win without Pippen, Kukoc, Kerr and Rodman. Kobe's NEVER gonna win again without the likes of Shaq or someone else to requires team play to be successful.
He deserves what he gets IMHO, and nothing more, unless he realizes that basketball is a TEAM sport.
Amazing how these basic concepts are lost to prima-donnas with egos bigger than John Goodman's belly!
