I just received my JXM190 Jet America MD-82.
Part one I'm planning to make my own hybrid JetAmerica/AlaskaAirlines livery by removing the title from the fuselage and the logo from the horizontal stabilizer.
Now, I know this subject has been covered many times and it's a bit stale already. BUT, please advice the best/safest mean to go about it.
Acetone to remove the titles, what kind?
Is it the same process/care/technic to remove markings from fuselage [metal] and tail [plastic]?
Are the title tampo printed on the same layer as the rest of the upper details? [window frame, livery, etc]
I remember it was mentioned before that a layer of lacquer was applied to the model after it was tampo printed. Is this done before the last layer when the titles are stamped on the model?
Please advice as it would be sad/sacrilegious [grossly irreverent] to mess up with such a fine model.
part two If things go well [and the model do pass the untitleing process] is to send this model to SCL for a custom tampo printing on the hands of Chileans that do have the balls to tampo up.
