A factory model means the model was made by the Convair Factory as a giveaway to potential or real clients of this airplane.
Verkuyl was another great modelmaker in Holland...
The model is very nice and I would never ever repaint it, looks vintage to me, that's what counts, repaint it and it will just be a piece of old metal.
