A purely personal opinion here folks...These "display models" are not intended to be totally faithful scale replicas, there are plastic kits available for that level of accuracy as amply demonstrated by other members/craftsmen on this forum, as far as I am concerned "display" or "travel agent type" models were originally just advertising aids..nothing more. I agree however that with the progress in decals and other types of decoration used on models nowadays that there should be no excuse for some of the livery foul ups that you see sometimes on some models, just poor research I guess. I have to admit that in many years of collecting these things I have never yet rejected a model on the grounds of incorrect engine pylons or pods etc. The inaccuracy of the shape of the centre intake on the Westway BEA Trident is well known, but it does not stop this model commanding auction room prices on the rare occasion that one crops up for sale. As I say just a personal opinion here....we all collect differently...thank goodness
