Oh my, another hopeless addict on they way. I would have told you to go into the light and not even buy the first model. However, from reading your post, it is apparent that you have already gone to far from the light.
My recomendation now is to find a second job, new girlfriend, or prepare for divorce, or get a higher paying job. You're definately going to need it.
There truly is no explanation for adult men spending so much on tiny metal toy airplanes, but recognizing that you have this affliction is the first stage towards recovery.
Kind of reminds me of those famous last statements from people like Yuri (and myself at an earlier date): "I'm only going to collect thos aircraft liveries/types I have flow on. Then you begin to rationalize that perhaps you should collect all the liveries/types that land at your particular airport. Then it can move on to: "Maybe I will limit myself to only US, European or Asian airliners.
Before you know it, you are spending on average $250 a month and frantically scrambling to find a way to pick up the models you still don't have in large plastic containers in the garage or attic which rarely see the light of day.
It's a fascinating hobby with some fascinating people, so enjoy!
Carry on!
