Let Me Clarify. First It's Spelled Poutine.
Second, It's A French-Canadian Invention From Quebec Enjoyed ( Falsely) By Canadians Across The Country.
Why I Said Falsely Is Because 90 % Of All Canadians Are Duped In To Believing Poutine Is Made Of French-Fries Topped With Melted Process Cheese & Smothered With Either A Flour Or Corn Starch Gravy Flavoured With A Salt Lick Boullion & Browning, Typically What You Will Find At Most Fast Food Restaurants.

If Any Of You Had French Cheese From A Real European Deli You Will Know Proceesed Or Even Supermarket Deli Cheese Is Wrong.
Also The Sauce (Not Gravy) Is Supposed To Be A Beef Broth Moire Poire, Thickened With A Little Flour & Sour Cream.
Lastly, The Cheese Is Not Supposed To Be Melted.( The French In Quebec Get Very Angry)

A Tasty Treat, If Done Right, & Looks Nice Too.

Real Canadian Dishes Are Made With Fish & Game, Homemade Bread, Root Vegatables & Greens. Some Of the Vegatables Are Made Into Creative Puddings.

I Have Eaten Caribou (Very Delicious) Seal, Arctic Hare, Porcupine, Moose (Not Very Good) Black Bear (Ditto, Very Hard & Grizzely) Pun. Ptarmigan ( Makes Nice Soup, Too.) A Variety Of Ducks & Geese,

A Variety Of Fish Including: Arctic Char, Atlantic Salmon & Ouinanice
(Pronounced Wananish, A Species Of Landlocked Salmon.) White Fish, Great Northern Pike (Too Rich, Any Age) Many Species Of Trout, Caplin, Northern Cod, Smelts. ( our Smelts Are Large Enough To Catch With A Line & Hook. They Are Pan Sized Between 6 & 9 Inches Long)

There Is A Restaurant In Toronto That Serves Such Food Called the "Canoe"
They Also Serve Buffalo, Which I've Never Tried.

& Happy July Fourth To All You Americans.
Salute!
