But, why let the girl die from a slow, painful death? Who - except for herself - actually KNOWS whether she is able to feel pain, or feel she´s dying.

Why not keep her alive and hope that science finds a cure for her ailment, maybe in 5, 10, 20 years? Money? Who is to decide that Ms Schiavo is a "useless vegetable"? A judge in a court? God? All of us?

I don´t know if news in the USA said this, but a benevolent society here in Germany that keeps others, especially kids, who are in a somewhat similar condition alive, has offered shelter for Ms. Schiavo, @ no cost for her family. The offer was turned down, apparently because this would overrule the courts´ decisions. Sad world.
