This is an interesting comparison...and about the only thing that is relevant to the models is the size....I had never considered placing a 1:300 scale model (namely because I don't own any) next an Aero Mini).
Keep in mind that only the Aero Mini 747 had a scale of 1:290. Other Aero Mini models as the 707, Dc-9, VC-10 and 727 were larger at 1:239 and the DC-8's were 1:250th I believe.
Collectors who pursue Aero Minis appreciate them for their nostalgia and rarity. Today, they are considered antiques, aprt from the models which are currently being produced today.
Furthermore, Aero Minis were considered very advanced for their time from precisely engineered moulds to 0.0005 in. Without access to all of the computer graphics and techniques avalibale today, AM take a look at that AM mould against that Phoenix mould you have there. The pictures don't lie. The AM mould is far superior as it was produced from blueprints of the actual aircraft.
Lastly, some Aero Mini models are extremely rare today, and that lends to their extraordinary value.
It is uncertain what factors will come together to determine the longterm values of the models that are being produced today.
