Hey David, whats the 'turkey feathers'?

And about the center pylon tanks. Is it realistic? I mean, in the DW F-18 I have, I display it on the stand and have the center tank removed but the 2 side tanks stay. Do the Navy F-18s ever fly with only the wing tanks or do they always fly with 3 or none?
