Default Wrong scale!

Main problem with Corgi airliners and military jets is that they decided to make them 1:144 to appeal to the collectors of Airfix Skyking kits in the UK. They knew perfectly well that 1:200 or 1:250 were the scales for metal large models (better still, 1:400, but Mr Klein had yet to work his majic!). I hear that commercial pressure from 1:200 manufacturers (no names honest, so please don't get lawyers out!) persuaded them as well.

I really think that if Corgi had gone down the right path they could have introduced many new collectors to the Hobby and tapped into a rich vein of subjects. As it is they have gone back to the well mined vein of World War 2 and some very odd 1:72 subjects (does anyone really want a US Army red and white Chinook prototype! or ...)

Sorry, Corgi Your B52s in 1:200 or 1:250 would have been able to command 100 Pounds easy, as it is they go in discount at Toy Fairs for 25!
