Well it seems I was mistaken. I don't have a picture of the MD-12, but I do have a picture of Mcdonnell's last project - the MD-XX. According to the caption in the book, it says "The MD-XX was to be the final attempt by Douglas Aircraft to regain the market share of past years. The aircraft would have provided a perfect replacement for early 747's, as well as challenging the 777 and A340 for the long range market. It was scrapped by McDonnell Douglas in October 1996, signaling the end of Douglas Aircraft as an independent maker of long-range jetliners"
