Hello and please help!!

I have purchased some old (late 1960s era) Corgi and Lintoy Concordes. The decals on these are starting to peel. What is the best method of reattaching without ruining the decals or paint?

Also on one model a whole lot of gunk (I think it is the old glue from the decals mixed dust) is along the cheatline. How can I remove? What is good for cleaning the models without ruining paint or decals?

Should I use laquer or something once I have finished to protect the coating?
