They restore aircraft up in Everett about a 1/2 mile from Boeing. When I was there a few years ago they where working on a older fighter. There is a WWII Corsair in the Museum of Flight that restored at the same place. I believe the Corsair was sitting on the bottom of Lake Washington for many years.
Also, the first 727-100 is also there. It was flown by United Airlines and donated to Boeing and to be put into a new museum when built. They(Boeing) also have the very first 747 ever built(Boeing owns it). I was told the new building would be built around this aircraft.
